I kinda miss living close to an Apple Store

What type of consumer are you?

Is convenience no longer considered a luxury?

Am I finally healing from past trauma?

The iPad Pro I have is from the Apple Store at the Domain in Austin,TX. I remember adding the Apple Care to my purchase because I lived close to this store and knew it would be convenient to just bring it in if I had any issue.

Now that I am in Oregon, the closest store to me is a 2 hour drive.

This new way of living has me thinking about the convenience that Texas offered, made me a different type of consumer. Back in Texas, convenience was a big priority because it is a hassle to get any type of errand done that didn't involve some type of traffic and figuring out parking. If I had to pay a little more to get the convenience of having to deal with driving then they can take my money.

Now that I am in Oregon, I think I would consider myself a consumer that cares more about quality. Out here in Oregon, especially in the college town I live in, most business put more effort into offering quality service because they rely more on repeat customers than on tourists. My spending habits have been influenced by this new “Quality Centered” experience. I now consider the quality of the experience when I spend and less on the convenience of the transaction.

That random ass guilt I feel from using Amazon to order something instead of taking the effort of buying the same product at a thrift store or any other second hand store. That guilt is strong and influences a lot of my purchases.

Now I know that I have a version of myself that can exist outside of Texas. That’s a good feeling. That’s proof that I have courage and have the ability to code switch.
