Day 1: Consistency

Good morning! Buenos dias!

Attempting to grow as an artist or just in general is not easy and I’m not opposed to being challenged but it can be overwhelming.

Early on, I understood that consistency would be the key to seeing real improvement in my personal and creative goals. My mistake (of many) was assuming I could successfully become consistent in working out/training, creating art, read a book a month and improve my writing skills. Yeah, that didn’t last long.

Quickly I became overwhelmed and slowly stopped any progress I had made. (Sad)

After a couple of days of feeling like a failure and feeling sorry for myself, I decided to start up again but this time I would attempt one consistency at a time. Around mid-April I started running and working out at Camp Gladiator in the mornings. While at my day job I would do some writing, reading and illustrations but I wasn’t making it a priority.

Now it is mid-August and I have been running/working out for three months. I believe I have done it consistently enough that it has become a habit and not as big of a struggle to do every day.

Now its time to build on the skills I can do consistently. Next up will be writing!

I will be writing in this blog daily for 15 minutes every morning.

I will continue creating art/illustrations, hopefully I can attach an illustration to each blog post but it will not be a priority. I want to develop my skills as a writer but first I need to be able to write consistently.

Peace out,

Reibert-Anthony
