Day 9: Taking Classes

Buenos Dias! Good Morning!

Today is the first day of class! I am taking two classes at Austin Community College, both of them are virtual because cases of Covid-19 are going up. We’ve reached the highest point of infection since the pandemic started.

My Storyboard class is on Wednesday and Drawing for Animation is Tuesday & Thursday. I will be sharing what I learn as I go through these courses.

I am hoping that once I finish these classes I will improve my technical skills in my illustrations and get to meet other people that enjoy making illustrations.

Low key I feel like i’m doing too much but I also have nothing else going on. I do eventually want to be able to create my own business and work for myself, so I understand that this is part of the process. I am worried that I’ll overwhelm myself. I think the best way to avoid this is if I set priorities for every day and stick with them no matter what. It will definitely be a work-in-progress but for now these will be my daily Top 3 priorities.

  1. Work out

  2. Study/Read for at least 1 hour

  3. Draw for at least 30 minutes

One of the reasons I decided to take a class at Austin Community College is because I believe my potential for growth as an artist will increase if I surround myself with other artists. Right now I am struggling with working consistently at becoming an illustrator and not having anyone to relate to or having someone to guide me through my journey.

Ultimately, I believe taking classes at ACC will help me with networking.

Peace out,

Reibert-Anthony
